We are seeking an IDL programmer to join our Quality Assurance team in
testing IDL from early development through to release. The qualified
candidate will be responsible for the following: creating a test plan;
executing existing tests; developing and implementing new tests and
procedures; creating and maintaining entries in a problem tracking database.
You'll have the opportunity to work as part of a team and provide assistance
to other team members. This entails working with tech support to reproduce
issues with released products while tackling technical issues with
developers to resolve problems found during the test cycle. You will also
work with product managers to ensure that requirements are appropriately
implemented. Product documentation review is ongoing.
Required Minimum Skills and Qualifications
Twelve months experience with IDL.
Strong working knowledge of modern
programming languages such as Fortran, C, C++, Java.
Ability to learn new technologies rapidly.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Participate in a team environment and communicate effectively.
Proven proficiency with one or more of the following: UNIX, Windows, Mac,
Linux.
Knowledge of software development procedures and life cycle desired.
Experience in testing procedures and processes desired.
BA/BS degree in a Science related field or equivalent experience.
