'Cause Windows memory management is a load of plop...
Windows is still fundamentally 16 bit and if you ever look at the mechanics of
memory management through the SDK you'll shudder. If you want to do big things,
I'd strongly advise you get a 32 bit OS for your PC that knows all about your
memory and uses it accordingly: OS/2, NT and various Unices spring to mind,
though you'd have to check with IDL to see if there's a port to it available.
