widget_table annoyance: how do i change the width of the row label header column? [message #33416]

I am running IDL 5.4 under Redhat Linux, and am using the table widget
with mixed success. I am simply trying to make my row labels fit in
the row label header column. It doesn't need to be huge - I just need
to be able to fit about 12 characters there without them being cut
off. However, the default width only fits about 9 characters, and this
column does not seem to be affected by the column_width keyword. What
am I missing?
