Research Systems has a full-time opening for a technical sales engineer.
The qualified individual will provide pre-sales technical support and
expertise to the sales team for Research Systems suite of products including
IDL, ENVI and ION. This person will also be responsible for product
presentations to current and potential customers, application prototyping,
in-depth technical product assistance and be a creative problem solver.
Travel is required.

Required Minimum Skills and Qualifications:


a.. Four years of application software development in a technical discipline
such as the engineering or scientific industry.
b.. Strong working knowledge of modern programming languages such as
Fortran, C, C++, Java.
c.. Strong working knowledge of IDL, PV-WAVE, or Matlab.
d.. Technical software sales or support experience.
e.. Ability to learn new technologies rapidly.
f.. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
g.. Strong interpersonal skills and customer focus.
h.. Enthusiasm and ability to create enthusiasm for RSI software products.
i.. Proven proficiency with one or more of the following: UNIX, Windows,
Mac, Linux.
j.. BA/BS degree in Computer Science/Earth Sciences or related technical
discipline.

The following qualifications would be a plus:
k.. Knowledge of Remote Sensing applications.
l.. Experience with COM technologies.
m.. Experience with computer graphics or image processing software.
n.. Experience with software development for the World Wide Web.
