Change to exclusive buttons in 5.6? [message #34032]

I have not been able to find it in the documentation but it appears that
the operation of get_value and set_value to the widget_control function
has changed for exclusive compound button groups. In 5.5 get\set_value
accepted arrays for both exclusive and nonexclusive button groups but
with 5.6 it appears that for exclusive groups only the scalar index of
the selected button can be passed. I just wanted to check that this is
in fact the case before I update some code (that worked in 5.5 but not
in 5.6)
