I think that your easiest path is to obtain a newer version of IDL, like IDL
5.6.
If you are stuck with 5.02 (really??? !!!), then you *might* have some luck
hunting around for some RPMs that contain older versions of the C runtime
libraries. Some Linux distros also ship with the "previous" version of the
libs to ease some compatibility problems. You may want to read up on what
it takes to make your application use the older libs. But I think that this
solution is something of a longshot, since 5.02 was quite awhile ago.
