Newbie question... In looking back over the IDLWAVE user manual since
installing v.5.0 I noticed that in the tutorial it says that END is
converted to ENDFOR automatically for a for loop. My IDLWAVE has never
done this, in version 4.16 or the new 5.0. Is there a setting I can set
to have this done? Thanks.

Yes, it's not on by default. You have to configure the variable
idlwave-expand-generic-end. The easiest way is to M-x customize-variable
it. Or you can examine the ".emacs" sections of the manual which shows
this being set with other settings in your customization file. That one
saves me lots of times, especially when I forget where I am in some
deeply nested if..then..else..if block.
