I have some pixel locations (currently in an excel file, ID, x co-ord,
y co-ord) in x and y co-ordinates within a projected image. I want to
be able to collect sample spectra from these specific pixels, and to
assign each spectra the relevant IDs. The spectra then need to be put
into a spectral library so that I can run a classification on them
using Envi. I can do all this by hand in a very long winded fashion
using Envi but it's been suggested to me that it may be possible to
create a script using IDL to automate this process. Having never used
IDL before I'm at a bit of a loss, the help pages look fantastic but I
suspect you need a little experience to get the most out of them!

Any help would be very gratefully received

Thanks
