for a more comprehensive discussion.

And there's always Cygwin grep!

Install a plain-text search handler for IDL .pro files:

http://www.tek-tips.com/gfaqs.cfm/pid/779/fid/2464

Haven't tested this myself as I don't use XP (and am unlikely to upgrade in
the near future).

This is such a boneheaded move by XPans that I almost don't believe it (I am
still hanging on to win2000).

It is however, an opportunity to plug the greatest filemanager of all time.
TOTAL COMMANDER, formally Windows Commander, and based on
the ancient Norton Commander.

With it, one can do amazing search things, and send them to a list box,
filter
them and zip them up, etc etc. It also nicely integrates ftp and such.
Another good thing is that one can make buttons to "cd" you to a particular
directory,
which is really convenient.

A free fully functioning demo is available. Check it out at
ghisler.com. And it is dirt cheap too (30$) for the registered version.

Cheers,
bob stockwell

PS
I am not affiliated with the company, I just think it is a fantastic
product.
