I was wondering what the status is of accessing remote data via a DODS
server from within IDL. Is anyone doing this successfully?

Thanks,

Steve

Hello in beautiful Penobscot Valley!

I recently explored DODS - apparently there is a command line IDL
client setup up and running - but I never got to try it. You probably
have been already visited here
http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/packages/dods/ At the time I looked at it
(last fall) there was a decided push toward Matlab for the project I
was looking at because there was no GUI (yet) for the IDL version.
I'll be interested in knowing how it works for you.

Cheers,
Ben
