PVWAVE and IMSL

We are runing PV~WAVE version 3.1 on VMS v5.5
I have a question for all those who have been successful in accessing the
IMSL math/stat library from within PV~WAVE. To do this the Call_VMS function
requires the routines to be shareable images.
Question : IMSL uses some common blocks for its workspace. Does this mean
that to be able to successfully link IMSL with PV~WAVE the IMSL
has to be installed write shareable ? This can cause problems
with multiple users, so is there any other way ?
I would really appreciate any input on this matter.
