Yes, it works! Huzah! :-)

Thank you for replying so quickly.

Regards, Pepijn Kenter.

OK, you guys with the font problems should now be taken
care of too. Plus, I had a couple of moments to pay a
little more careful attention to aesthetics. :-)

It's in the usual place:

http://www.dfanning.com/mpi_plot.zip

Cheers,

David

OK, fixed now, I think. I won't go into particulars,
except to say that you should NEVER publish a piece
of software that is your first attempt at something
new no matter HOW spectacular you feel about it when
you are finished. :-(

Let's just say I have obviously come a long way
in object programming in the past three years. :-)

But, of course, now that Pepijn has opened the flood
gates, all kinds of reports are coming in. I've heard
that fonts are a problem on some systems. This, I can
well believe. Martin Shultz, for whom this program was
written originally, added some font strings over
my vociferous (but not vauriferous enough, apparently)
objections. They were intended, I think, for his personal
version of Linux.

I'll see about taking them out, but I didn't really
mean to get involved in this today, at all, and I
really HAVE to get something else done first!

If you don't have font problems and you just couldn't
get the XAXIS stuff to appear, you can download these
files:

http://www.dfanning.com/mpi_plot.zip

Otherwise, keep those cards and letters pouring in.
It's gratifying to know that *somebody* uses this
stuff occasionally. :-)

Cheers,

David

P.S. I worked about 20 of the past 24 hours on getting
my Catalyst Library ready to go for the new IDL Virtual
Machine. Let's just say, if you think MPI_PLOT was neat,
you are going to LOVE CATPLOT! :-)

Yes, this is a mystery. :-(

I've noticed this myself on some Linux machines, but not
others. It is really odd, because exactly the same code is
being called for both the X and Y axis controls (it is the
same object in both cases). Plus, I've seen the code work
OK on other UNIX machines. I'd like to get to the bottom
of it, that's for sure. Would you be willing to do some
testing for me?

Cheers,

David

P.S. Let's just say it works perfectly here, naturally. :-)
