Google for "idl" and "pin-cushion". Plenty of results, and even some
potentially useful ones.

BTW: Sometimes you find a web entry that makes reference to a user-written
IDL routine, but you can't seem to find the code of the routine anywhere.
In those cases, googling for the starting line of the code sometimes
helps. Say you're looking for a procedure called "foo", then google for
"pro foo" to find the code.
