I think there must be some kind of detrimental
interaction going on between the CENTRAL_AZIMUTH
keyword on the MAP_SET command and the MAP_PATCH
routine. If you leave CENTRAL_AZIMUTH off, or use
MAP_IMAGE instead of MAP_PATCH, things appear to
work correctly.

I think this is a bug that should be reported.
