3d histograms [message #3658] Tue, 07 March 1995 09:03 Go to next message

I am trying to use PV-Wave to display a discrete data of x,y,z form.
Because it is discrete neither surface nor shade_surf are appropriate
but I can find no way to easily produce a 3d histogram and would like
to avoid writing the code to produce one if it has already been done.
Is a PV-WAVE program available to produce 3d shaded histograms from ftp?

Thanks

To my understanding (I'm using IDL) there exists a routine in Wave called
PLOT3D.

Look at it; maybe you can need it or at least get the idea how to solve
your problem.

I don't know about PV-Wave, but in IDL there is a users-library function
called LEGO. It's pretty old (1991), so it may also be available in
PV-Wave.
