Hello,

we already use the Dataminer in our institute
to access a mysql database, however, there are some
limitations that bite me from time to time. Besides,
the Dataminer is quiet expensive for what it offers, so
the idea came up to emulate it in some way. Now that
the Java-bridge is available in 6.0 this might be a
relative easy task.

My problem is that I do not know Java at all, so there
is a need for one or a few java objects that contain all
needed functionality related to jdbc which can be used
inside IDL. Can anybody with java knowledge point me in
the right direction or is possibly interested in helping
to build such a java class, too?

Olaf
