David, thanks. I did think of that and did try to figure out from the
documentation how to extract and look at those values. My theory was
that it had something to do with a temp file or directory. Somewhere
there is a mention of a '/tmp/' as a default.
Do you imply that there is storing of information between sessions (on
Mac) that is different from preferences? If so, it sounds like I need
to learn all about it.
I like IDL a LOT, but there is a LOT to learn!
