Remember that everyone here in the NG is jsut a volunteer, while your
someone@mathworks.com gets paid 8 hours a day fro helping you. My schedule
is getting more and more busy and I find hardly time to read the NG. Also,
should you not get an answer (happened to me too), it may well be that your
question is so exotic that noone has dealt with your particular issue
before.

I have not. In fact, I didn't know it existed. Why doesn't anyone ever
tell me these things?! Oh, wait.... I think it's because I've only been
working with IDL for 3 months or so now.... Anyways, I guess I'm just
old-fashioned since I prefer good ol' news over the web forum stuff.
Besides, RSI's little forum there wasn't all that aesthetically pleasing
and I didn't care for the navigation. Oh, well.

You did get a rise out of me on one of them, but being the "New Guy"
around here and not quite knowing everyone's personality (and the level
of off-topic tolerance), I chose to be nice and keep quiet. ;-)

I think RSI (is the only institution in the world that) ought to be
allowed to use the word "where" when making reference to any aspect of
the process of searching items in a dataset.
I don't know about "regulars" -- I drop in here when I have a few
minutes to kill to see if there's something simple where I can help
out someone and there's nothing interesting on my other regular
newsgroups (alt.sex.emacs and such). It has to be simple, or otherwise
I'm out of my depth immediately. But most of the time the questions
here are about some arcana I didn't even know existed (or have been
shunning with disgust). I tend to come away with a good new idea here
and there but my reading-to-posting ratio is rather large (and it's
not because I read here terribly often).
