Customizing linestyles for PLOT? [message #38550] Tue, 16 March 2004 09:18

One of my colleagues was just expressing his frustration at the limitations
of the plotting linestyles available in IDL direct graphics. He likes to
plot absorption/emission spectra, and apparently the default linestyles
don't work well. For example, he would like to have dashed lines with long
dashes and small gaps, and be able to adjust the lengths of the dashes and
gaps. Before I tell him to write a wrapper for PLOT, I was wondering if
anyone has tackled this problem already.

Cheers,
Liam.
