Thanks for the kind offer. I rather shy away from call_external based on
terrible failures in the past. But that was 5 years ago. Are things better
now? If so, then please do send your pro's (better still put them on your
website so everyone can find them :-).

Last year I managed to call several of the NCAR MUDPACK and FISHPACK
routines via CALL_EXTERNAL. I could send you what I have.
