Deadhorse? Northern territories? Completely dry? Sounds like a ringer
for a.. a.. uh, place in this part of the world: Dead Bullock Soak
north-west of Alice. If only the two could reach some sort of compromise,
climate-wise :-)

This is what happens when you advertise you want to "get
out of town" and your friends hook you up. I'm reminded
of the old Lily Tomlin joke: "I always wanted to be
somebody when I grew up. Now I realize I should have been
more specific."

Cheers,

David

Yeah, that's the *real* bad news. The northern territories
are completely dry. Not even legal to *bring* it in,
according to my packet of material. It's really not the kind of
place I expect to find too many IDL programmers. :-(

Appreciate the pictures, though. The Lonely Planet Guide
I consulted had this to say about Deadhorse: "Uh, you
don't want to go there." I'm beginning to see why. :-)

Cheers,

David

Lucky for you. From what I see at

http://henkbinnendijk.tripod.com/deadhorse

you are better off indoors! (Why would a sensible horse want to
caught dead there is not clear to me.)

Take some whisky, too?

And may this newsgroup warm the cockles of your IDL-loving heart. This
begs the question, why Deadhorse for three weeks? The only thing
significant about the place is that it's where the Alaska pipeline starts.
