Using IDL's Z-buffer... problem with linestyles [message #3876] Tue, 04 April 1995 00:00

I'm using IDL on a Sparc5 and am trying to use the Z-buffer mechanism
as a way to create images. I know about the /PIXMAP keyword on the
window command but this will not work for me as I'd like to be able to
create images when logged in from home (when the X window system is NOT
running). The image and character graphics look fine. However, dotted
lines have appear as dashed lines... that CRAWL! That is, the "dotted"
line appears to be moving!
Can anyone recommend a way to get the same results that I get when using
the window system? That is, HOW DO I GET truly dotted lines, THAT DON'T
MOVE, while using the Z-buffer. Or is there a better way to solve my
problem than using the Z-buffer?

Thanks in advance for any useful advice,
--Bill
