I am making a survey of IDL users that run on the new HP machines
known as the HP 9000/700 series (also known as the Snake). I have
been operating IDL on a 9000/720 since last June and am very pleased
with its speed. However, there are ocassional problems on which it would
be helpful to compare notes with other users. Surely we at APL
are not all alone. Unfortunately RSI does not currently have a 700
series computer so they can not always provide timely support. Two problems
that come to mind are:
1. Blown out of IDL if you attempt to make a plot and xterm is
not available. (eg. if you forget to set_plot,'tek')
2. Gamma function returns identically 0. for all arguments under
HP-UX 8.07 .
If I receive some responses I will post a summary (but probably not for
two weeks as I will be on travel next week).
