Hello.
I have no experience with either IDL or PV-WAVE but my company
is considering to use one of those products as graphical
component of an application that we are going to build.

Maybe someone can answer the following simple questions, so that
we don't spend a lot of time at eveluating these products and
finally find out it was not a good choise. My questions are: is
it possible with either of both products to

- use the graphical routines from within a C program (I mean, is
there some kind of library that you can link to your program ?)

- have time-riented data monitoring ? Basically, what we need is to
display continuously incomming technical data in a 2d-plot form,
where the x-axis is the time. It is desired that the display
is smoothly updated (scrolled) when data comes in and possibly
that one can scroll back to see old data.

- Another question is: how easy is it to learn programming those
products ?
