Initially my code was like following:
openw, u, file1, /get_lun
... write stuff
close, u
free_lun, u

openw, u, file2, /get_lun
... write stuff
close, u
free_lun, u

The file2 was left opened.

I've changed it to the following:

openw, u, file1, /get_lun
... write stuff
close, u

openw, u, file2
... write stuff
free_lun, u

And now everything works fine.
