Can I prevent Widget List Re-sizing? [message #3932] Thu, 23 March 1995 20:25

The XSIZE keyword is ignored for list widgets and instead it takes the
width of the longest item in the array. When using IDL on a Sun, the
widget is displayed with a proportional spaced font, so having list
items the same length in characters doesn't result in the same width
in the display. As I delete items from a list or add new items, the
widget changes it's width in a very disconcerting way - causing the
other widget around it to flicker too as they resize.

Is the some devious way of fixing the size of the list widget so this doesn't
happen? (I'd rather not specify a fixed width font as it will making porting
the program harder)

Thanks

Tim Patterson
