I have a high resolution image and I need a way to subset this 1.5 GIGA
image to many regular tiles (map sheets)automatically using ENVI ??

Anything you can do manually, you can automate with AutoIt

Dear All:

I have a vector that corresponds to a specific grid.
This grid has 100 rectangles. I want to use this vector (grid) to subset
an image into 100 rectangles automatically.
Is this possible ??

Thanks u all !

If you know any IDL, you can do this fairly easily using RESIZE_DOIT.
Using ENVI alone I don't think you'll be able to fully automate this.
You can create vectors or regions of interest of each tile, then use
Basic Tools > Resize Data (doing the subset by ROI or EVF). If you
type out the corner coordinates in a text file, you can import them
directly into vectors.
