Dear all,
it's quite an old topic:
"Has anyone ever heard of an IDL reader for AVHRR Level 1B data?"

Is there really no plain IDL code for reading this data?
I am sure, that some of you have done some coding, and if we put
our efforts together, it should be possible to put something together.
I am aware, that this capability exists within ENVI, but for several
reasons I would prefer to have access to the IDL code.
