I have a problem with colour tables... I've set my server to 8 bit. If I
use a "windowmaker" session, all is as it should be (I get a private
colour map and when I select the plot window I see the real colours).
However, if I have a gnome session then this doesn't work: I only get
to see the colours if I also open a widget draw window (eg xloadct) and
select the graphics area on that. This seems pretty weird to me: is there
a known answer?
A sceond problem is that the system doesn't seem to be remembering my
setting of window,retain=2. Is there a system variable to set the retain
value default?
This is all on an itona x-term, if that matters.
