Hello Mort!

Yes, I have used the overlay/annotation menu. But I would like to do
that automatically throught an IDL routine.

I already have a routine to process the NOAA images automatically and
to produce a JPEG. But I must overlay an annotation on these JPEGs.

Just use the display menu OVERLAY/ANNOTATION. Works with any format.
