Hello everybody,
just to ask the same question of my previous post in a simpler way:

is it possible to assign to an ION_SCRIPT $variable a value coming from
the result of an IDL expression?

Something like (inside an <IDL> block of course)

<ION_EVALUATE EXPR="$var = strmid('alessandro', 1, 5)" />

or

$var=strmid('alessandro', 1, 5)


???
