Dear IDL users,

my desktop computer was upgraded to SuSE 9.1 running XFree 4.3.99.902 and IDL 6.1.1.
In my idl_startup file, the cursor shape is defined using device,cursor_standard=24
which until now resulted in a transparent cursor with the concentring circles
(nice for
centering purposes).
I was surprised to see that the new system produces a circular opaque cursor. So
everything
behind the cursor is hidden which makes its use a bit difficult. I was even more
puzzled when
I started 6.1.1 from my laptop (SuSE 8.0, XFree 4.2.0) and redirected the
display onto the
desktop machine which yielded the proper cursor appearence.

Any suggestions are welcome.
