Problem with MODIFYCT [message #4191]

I have the following problem with MODIFYCTT: from all changes which I
put into the color table only the first 217 values are accepted. The
higher values are filled with some semi-random colors.
I use the following procedure:
1) change a table with XPALETTE
2) COMMON colors,X,Y,Z
3) MODIFYCT,desired_number,'new_name',X,Y,Z,file='my_table'

When I call the table with XLOADCT immeadiately after generating it ,
it looks exactly like I desired. On a following recall the described
problem showes up.

Maybe I am just stupid ..... certainly I need some comments.
