HI:
how do i implement the free hand roi draw tool as we have it in iImage?
is there any kind of inheritance possible?

that is true. it is difficult to tailor existing itools. the
documentation does not say much about it also.

But i am sure that it is powerful enough to build nice applications. im
trying to get a hang of it. i will let u know when i do it. :-))

I tend to feel that due to it's complexity and design, iTools are very
difficult to inherit and extend into your own application. For example,
you may find that rather than trapping widget events you need to add
your own "observer" to the UI to know when a particular ROI has been
drawn. I never bothered finding out the details due to the relative lack
of freely available examples of extending iTools. This was reason enough
to expect that iTools was going to be difficult to tinker with. I
haven't looked much into iTools, so I may be completely wrong on this one.

I tend to think that you can probably rip off someone elses ROI drawing
tool and make it free-hand if it is not already.
