Hello folks (especially Oleg Kornilov and Ronn Kling)
As many of you know, and as explained briefly by David Fanning here
http://www.dfanning.com/fileio_tips/avi.html
there are two versions of a package to read & write AVI files in IDL on
Windows. I have been using Ronn's DLL+DLM version for some time and am
very happy with it, though there are one or two things I would like that
it doesn't do. I see that Oleg has recently posted an improved version
of his DLL-only package and I have given this a quick run also. It seems
to work as advertised, though I have managed to crash IDL a couple of
times with it (good old CALL_EXTERNAL).
I am *very* wary about relying on a binary package that might become
obsolete with a new version of IDL. I would *really* like to get a copy
of the source code so I can recompile it myself if necessary. I see that
Haje Korth asked to see it, but I don't see any reply. How about it guys?
