Hello,
This message is regarding my post about a complex math error in IDL.
I have just had a response from RSI and I am happy to announce that version
4.0 of IDL fixes this problem. I rather thought that it would since RSI had
announced a double precision complex data type and that would likely have
required a significant re-write of the math operations and functions.
I don't have access to WAVE, but I had some friends try the problem on their
set-up which, I believe, is the most current WAVE version. They found that
raising a complex number to a power is an illegal operation in their version
of WAVE. So you can't get into trouble because you just can't do that kind
of math!
