By the way, Speedbar can be turned on by default, or with
Tools->Display Speedbar in the Emacs menu. Middle click on things (or
use arrows and return). I also use "iMenu" bound to
Shift-Right-Click, to popup a list of routines in my file (see the
IDLWAVE screenshots at idlwave.org).
