Good day,

Are there any wrapper functions available to use to read and display
ERDAS 8.x (.img) format image in IDL using draw widget?

I don't know of any, but that doesn't mean there aren't any out there.
I just use the ENVI routine since I have ENVI :-)

If you have ENVI you can use the ENVI_OPEN_DATA_FILE routine to read
the image, then display it in your draw widget with usual IDL commands.
