To anyone who is using AIX, IDL 4.0 and the call_external function to call
a FORTRAN function :

If you don't already know, ignore the shareable executable creation examples
provided in the external/examples/sharelib directory (as mentioned in the IDL
V4.0 User's Guide, page 18-16), and read page 18-19 instead.

Just wanted to save someone the time and effort (and aggravation) I put in to
make my call_externals work again.
