Hi, Folks

I've managed to run idl/idlde under FreeBSD(actually pc-bsd-0.7.5)
following the tips provided by
Teresa(http://www.physics.sfsu.edu/~tjohnson/tips.html).
So far it runs all my code flawlessly. There seems to be some minor
issues that has something to do with converting strings to Pixmaps when
issueing the idl/idlde command. Basically, you will see no splash
screen when start idlde and after idlde startup, all toolbar icons are
missing, instead, strings of text are shown such as"Save",
"Copy","Run", "Compile" etc. however they are functioning as usual.
This issue does prevent idl from running properly when in vm mode since
you have to click the splash screen to excute the code. Thus I got an
error as "cannot convert string 'idlvm' to Pixmap". I am wondering if
anyone here knows how to fix this or know for sure it can not be fixed
at the script level. I know this is mostly for fun and may not get
anywhere(unless rsi decide to support bsd:). But still I'd love to hear
from you guys. Any comments, opinions are welcome.

cheers,BP
