How can you claim to be cross plateform if you do not provide the same
tools on different plateform.
And in my case, this is a real stopper.
Anyway I'll send them a report, thanks

Where exactly does one report such feature request (aka bug report) ?
Thanks

I know that at least a proof of concept of such a thing has seen the light
of day sometime in the past, so I think grumbling might indeed help.
Presumably IDLWAVE could run such a command-line IDL as a sub-shell
without problem.

I must say that I have grumbled about this in the past on this newsgroup
and *threatened* to bug RSI, but never really got around to it.
Has anyone submitted a formal feature request? What was the response? If
bugging RSI about it again would help, I'd be glad to try.

There is no command line interface on Windows; you only get the
development environment. This is yet another "feature" some of us have
bugged RSI about in the past...
