I have received email from someone who listed a number of public
domain matlab clones- there seem to be about 5 or 6 of them. Is
anyone working on a similar clone for IDL? If not, Why not? I used
matlab extensively before I switched to IDL and greatly prefer IDL. I
know that matlab has a public domain release in its past- this may
explain the number of public domain copies (ie easy access to source
code)- does any similar pd ancestor of idl exist?
