Hi,
A few days ago I posted a question about calling IDL
subroutines from C and Fortran. I got two replies.
One asked me to look into IDL manuals and the other referred
me to the remote server calls for IDL. I was actually looking for
something more recent. In the IDL release v4.0 hyper-text help they
talk of callable IDL. It says "Callable IDL lets you call from other
applications using windows DLL, Mac AppleScript or Unix sharable
object library techniques. This way the idl libraries can be called
directly. "
On further investigation it is said. "Callable IDL is not
documented in the standard IDL documentation set. For availability of
callable IDL documentation call Research Systems."
I would like to know why they did not include documentation
for this new feature. If you happen to have used these in any
application please send me mail or post your reply. Thank you.
