I am getting started with IDL widget programming, and I was wondering
if any of the FTP sites have useful widget code. I looked them over
maybe a year ago, and I didn't find a lot of widget stuff (but there
was quite a lot to look through, I'm sure I could have missed it). It
seems like the compound widgets are self-contained enough that they
could be easily reused in other peoples' routines.
More specifically, has anyone written an image map compound widget?
Something like you see on WWW pages--display an image in a draw
widget, define rectangular regions (optionally draw box outlines), and
return an event telling which region the mouse was clicked in. If
not, that will be my first project. I will post it if there is any
interest (and if I actually get around to starting the project I am
considering!)
