I have been running Windows IDL 3.6.1 without any difficulty for
several months. I have 90 MHz Pentium w/ 32 megabyte memory
and ample disk space. The new version (IDL 4.0) installs without
problems but simply will not initialize the !DIR and !PATH system
variables when it starts up. Does anyone know what is wrong or
has anyone else seen this problem? IDL support has walked me
through all the obvious things on thephone but they don't know
how to solve it. I think they have given up.
