Hi All,

I was wondering,
is it possible to use overlay planes in IDL?
I.e. have an image using some of the bitplanes
and keep e.g. landcontours in other planes for
easy on/off switching of the visibility of the
landcontours - without affecting the underlaying
image.

Is it at all possible, or do I have to stop
using IDL for displaying my images?

Frank.

If I am not mistaken, use of the Z-buffer pseudo-device will
accomplish this for you. This feature should be documented,
and I hope it does for you what you wish.
