I know many of you don't use iMap, but I figure I'll ask anyway in the
hope that this is a known problem that I am not aware of:

I would like to make contour plots on a map background. Specifically, I
am using the Robinson projection, and an array of about 90,000 data
points and each data point has a degree latitude and longitude to go
along with it. Many times, using the appropriate iMap keywords and what
not, there is no problem. However, I run into problem when I try to
make a contour where I have removed points in the Southern Hemisphere
that are high due the the South Atlantic Anomaly. The projection with
the contour overplotted opens up fine, but when I try to increase the
number of levels or change the color, etc, IDL freezes. I'm guessing it
has something to do with the fact that there are all those points
missing (alternatively, I can set those points equal to zero, but IDL
still locks up).

I've tried searching this newsgroup and online but haven't found
anything that seems to relate to my problem. I'd would greatly
appreciate ANY guidance or assistance anyone could provide. If you
would like me to further clarify what I am trying to do please do not
hesitate to ask.

Thanks in advance,

John
