Hey guys,

I have been trying to modify certain slices of an image file, by
extracting the slice as a tiff, manually modifying them using a
Graphics Editor called GIMP and then reinserting the tiffs back into my
original file.

However I am having issues with this- not sure if it is with IDL or if
it is with the GIMP program. I have 2 versions of the original image
file. One is a 30um file, the other is a 60um file that I created
using the rebin command. I can extract tiff slices from both files,
but for some reason, the 30um slices show up blank on GIMP. That is,
when I read the slice on gimp, it just shows me a black picture with
nothing in it. The 60um one works fine however.

Is there any IDL related reason that this is the case?

Thanks
