Folks,

Just thought I would make a plug for getting your own IDL
T-Shirt. I've been wearing mine while I wander around the
Hawaiian Islands and I'm beginning to feel like a rock star!
Complete strangers are coming up to me, shaking my hand,
telling me how much they "loved the book" and "it got me
through graduate school". I sit down on the plane to read
my new mystery novel (P.J. Tracy, author, check it out!)
and I have to spend 30 minutes discussing IDL with someone
who has used it almost as long as I have.

But the clincher happened this weekend as I sat in a small
town restaurant having my lunch. A woman, a LARGE woman,
came up to me and told me I was the "best looking man she
had seen in a LONG time!" I'm telling you, I'm *sleeping*
in this shirt now! :-)

Cheers,

David

How much are you asking for it? I'd buy it!

Maybe you should sell it on comp.lang.idl-pvwave for loads of moola.
Though with all the fuss it's funny that no-one's actually started the
bidding for mine yet...

All I had to do was go to the users' group meeting at the SMN
meeting. Maybe they felt sorry for me after seeing how I was
dressed?

You can only get them for outstanding service to the IDL
community. Oh, wait, no. For that they give you something else.
Sorry.

For the shirts, you have to buy an IDL 12-pack license
and then plead with your sales rep to toss one in for
free. :-)

Cheers,

David

P.S. Let's just say that if JD doesn't have a shirt yet,
it is NOT because I haven't been begging on his behalf!

I'm sorry to contradict you David, but the "Powered with IDL" tee shirt,
is *much* more of a babe magnet than the "IDL 6.2 Beta Team" shirt. I'm
wearing mine right now and they're beating the door down!

PS: at least one of the statements in the previous paragraph is true.

Oh, absolutely! Anything with "IDL" on it is a certified
babe magnet. I think this even extends to the Interface
Definition Language. :-)

Oh, I'm sorry, I thought David said *fridge* magnet.

Wait a minute, you didn't say which side of the door they are on!
