As you can't run IDL as a stand-alone routine, that means that any
clients you have will have to buy IDL to run your software. That
could be expensive for them, I guess. Maybe you could put pressure
on RSI to release a compiler that produces stand-alone executables.
I think it would really help, as I often end up writing things in
languages other than IDL just because the end-user doesn't have
an IDL license.
Or maybe they could just produce a run-only IDL version?
